Thomas Farr Woodworking began in 1985, in the north coast community of Blue Lake, California. In 1987, Thomas and his wife moved to Portland, Oregon. He says that the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest mountains and coast have provided a creative environment for him to work and live in. With 20 years devoted to full-time furniture making, curves and shapes are a strong influence on his work. His early experience ranged from curved stair-casing to custom furniture and cabinetry. Chairs and tables are his favorite pieces because he finds them the most challenging. ThomasŐs furniture has evolved from just wood to wood with upholstery and metal details added. There is a consistency in his use shaping and technique with an emphasis on comfort. His work is meant for people, for him their enthusiasm and enjoyment really make the designs come to life.
