Milon Townsend Glass Sculpture
Since he began it in 1974, MilonTownsend's work has focused on the human figure. Spending 10 years immersed in the sculptural study of dance in New Tork City shaped Townsend’s artistic direction. His work explores motion, using strong, clear lines. Townsend’s foundation in classical music has lent structure and form to his work.
After spending many years working solely with combinations of clear and etched glass, Townsend has become a man of color. His sculptures demonstrate the capabilities of colored glass to capture the eye and intrigue the mind. Once he has captured their attention, Townsend says the rest is up to the viewers. By providing archetypal images as metaphor for life, Townsend’s work challenges the viewer to take a personal interest, drawing upon his or her own experiences and beliefs in response to the work.
His works are in the collections of many private and corporate collectors in the United States and abroad.
