Hilary Eddy was born
in England in 1948 and spent her childhood in Surrey where her mother's
love of colorful flowers and her father's broad appreciation for nature
had a profound influence on her artistic development. After college, she
came to the United States to pursue her career. She holds a master's degree
in fine arts from Purdue University.
There have been more than 60 solo exhibitions of Eddy's oil paintings
at museums, universities, and commercial galleries inthe United States,
and her work has been shown internationally in Germany, England, and the
orient. She has won numerous awards including, most recently, the Grand
Prize and First Place in The Artists' Magazine competition which had more
than 10,000 entries. She is the recipient of several grants and holds
membership in professional societies.
