Katheryn Davis Impressionist Painter
Kate Davis interprets reality in terms of the color she sees in
light and shadow. Using bold brushwork and bright colors to capture the
fleeting effects of light and atmosphere, she deliberately plays down
details allowing the imagination of the viewer to soar. Proficient at
both figure and landscape subjects, she works in watercolor, oil, acrylic
and gouache.
She is a recipient of the Watercolor Society of Oregons highest
competitive honor, the Diamond Award, the Windsor-Newton Award from the
Northwest Watercolor Society and is a juried member of Watercolor West.
She has juried international multi-media art exhibitions and has had many
one-person shows. Her works are represented internationally in private
collections.
