Carol Ackerman, originally from Toronto, Canada, is an accomplished alpine skier and recreational cyclist. She now resides just outside New York in the rolling hills of Connecticut.
Carol studied geology at Queen's University and then received her Graduate Jeweler Gemologist diploma from the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica, California. She has been working as a designer for twelve years developing her own fine jewelry collection.
"As a jeweler, I strive to create a lasting piece than can be worn and enjoyed for a lifetime. By using themes from nature, whether they be plants or flowers around us or the stars in the sky, I try to capture their whimsical and romantic feeling and impart it in my jewelry. By continuing to develop my skills and expanding the use of colored gemstones in my pieces, I hope to someday create works that are reminiscent of the great impressionist painters."
