Cohn-Stone Studios
is the workplace of California artists Michael Cohn and Molly Stone. Their
studio is one of the nations foremost producers of designer vases,
decorative art pieces and one-of-a-kind sculptural works of art. Since
1972, the works of M. Cohn and M. Stone have been exhibited in the U.S.A.,
Europe, Scandinavia, Australia, the Soviet Union, Canada, Japan and South
America. Their works are included in numerous museum, private, and corporate
collections worldwide.
Michael and Molly met through their common interest and involvement in
the glass arts and have maintained a commitment to the design as well
as the hands-on production of each individual piece of glass.
Every piece that leaves the studio is personally signed and dated by the
artists, acknowledging that the work has met their high standards of quality.
In addition to standing on their own merit as works of art, many of the
pieces are further enhanced by their functionality.
Molly Stone was educated in Sweden, at Orrefors Glaskolan as well
as Pilchuck Glass Center in Stanwood, Washington. She is the recipient
of many awards, including the coveted Niche Award in 1994 for "Outstanding
Glass.'She has been doing exhibits since the early 1980s.
Among her many collectors are The White House, Washington, D.C., and the
First Contemporary Glass Museum, Alcorcon, Madrid, Spain.
Michael Cohn graduated from the University of California at Berkeley
with a B.A. in Art. He has had many one-man exhibitions, as well as group
exhibitions around the globe. Michael's collectors include the National
Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, Japan; Corning Museum of Glass, Corning,
NY; and; Musée Des Arts Decoratifs De La Ville De Lausanne, Lausanne,
Switzerland, just to name a few.
